Everyone has something to deal with... at least once you know what it is... and understand it... you can get to work

Dr. Bensimhon lives in Greensboro, NC with her husband, their 2 sets of twins (3 boys and 1 girl, now much older than in this picture!), and their black lab and kitten.  A transplant from the northeast, Dr. Bensimhon earned her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed a pediatrics residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, followed by a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship at Duke University Hospital. She joined the Brenner Childrens’ Hospital Pediatric Hematology-Oncology team, and loved her work there.  Ultimately, however, her experience of living in a family touched by ADHD and other mental health issues brought about a new passion in providing resource and support for other families also facing such challenges.  What began with providing educational talks and facilitating a support group became a change of focus within her professional field.  Her current work combines a long-standing love for, and foundation in, pediatric medicine, child development, and education, with personal experience and a driving interest in the science of the brain, learning, mood, and attention, and what can be done to help children and adolescents attain success and happiness.
